Question: Is Alarga a support organisation for immigrant youth?
Reply: No. Alarga is not a support organisation, but a grant program for outstanding students of diverse cultural backgrounds. Alarga is an arena where the new reserve of talent meets Norwegian businesses. Our goal is to help the Norwegian business community reap the rewards of the international language and cultural competency that multicultural students offer.
Question: Do I have to be a Master’s student to apply?
Reply: You must be prepared to enter a Master’s program. The grant is awarded students who will enter programs in the autumn of 2010.
Question: Is there any age limit for applicants?
Reply: No. However, most recipients are between 20 and 30 years of age.
Question: Do I have to know whether I have been accepted into a Master’s program before I can apply?
Reply: No. However, we will consider the likelihood of acceptance in our evaluation process. Therefore it is important that applicants support their application with records of academic performance, recommendations and documentation of additional achievements. Grants are paid out upon acceptance into a program.
