Target group
Norwegian students with a family background from Eastern Europe, Asia (including Turkey), Africa and Central America.
Prerequisites for eligibility for an Alarga grant:
- You are prepared to start your Master’s studies in the autumn of 2010.
- You can document outstanding academic performance.
- You have an active interest in society and social affairs.
- You are fluent in written and spoken Norwegian and English, in addition to at least one other language.
During the selection process Alarga will evaluate personal qualities such as dedication and perseverance, analytical ability, curiosity, inventiveness, enthusiasm and networking skills. As an Alarga recipient you will be required to demonstrate flexibility and eagerness to learn, with a high intellectual capacity and good communications skills.
Cooperation with universities and colleges

The Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH)
The Norwegian School of Management (BI)
With its limited administrative capacity, Alarga has had to prioritise close cooperation with certain institutions. However, this does not mean that other schools are excluded from the program. Students from other educational institutions than those mentioned above are therefore highly encouraged to apply.
